چکیده

Abstract The use of eco-friendly bioplastics has become a viable solution to reduce the accumulation petrochemical products in biosphere and decrease microplastic contamination. In this study, we used low-quality cotton fibers that lack textile applications prepare bioplastics. We dissolved N , -dimethylacetamide/lithium chloride (DMAc/LiCl) solvent system converted cellulose solutions strong, transparent, flexible films through casting, gelation, regeneration, plasticization, hot-pressing. Films were characterized using different analytical techniques evaluate their physicochemical mechanical properties. Compared raw cellulose, regenerated hot-pressed showed amorphous structures excellent tensile characteristics. physical properties films, such as deformation recovery, flexibility, homogeneity, elongation, surface roughness, significantly improved by means plasticization Because glycerol increased hydrophilicity plasma-induced grafting oleic acid imparted hydrophobicity films. This study presents new avenue for are usually sold at discounted price produce value-added bioproducts applications. Graphic abstract

Conversion of Biomass into Bioplastics and Their Potential Environmental Impacts

To build our economy on a sustainable basis, we need to find a replacement for fossil carbon as chemical industry feedstocks (Andrady and Neal, 2009). There are growing concerns about current petroleum based production, accumulation of waste in landfills and in natural habitats including the sea, physical problems for wildlife resulting from ingestion or entanglement in plastic, the leaching of...

construction and validation of translation metacognitive strategy questionnaire and its application to translation quality

like any other learning activity, translation is a problem solving activity which involves executing parallel cognitive processes. the ability to think about these higher processes, plan, organize, monitor and evaluate the most influential executive cognitive processes is what flavell (1975) called “metacognition” which encompasses raising awareness of mental processes as well as using effectiv...

Cotton reproductive and fiber quality responses to nitrogen nutrition

Nutrient (N) stress affects cotton growth, primary physiological processes andfiber properties. This study utilized two sunlit growth chambers to compare cotton(cv. TM-1) responses to two levels of N nutrition imposed at the onset of floweringstage of development, 100 and 0% of optimum N, in plants grown under otherwiseoptimal temperature and soil moisture conditions. Flowers and bolls were tag...

Catalytic and Non-catalytic Conversion of Methane to C2 Hydrocarbons in a Low Temperature Plasma

The direct conversion of methane to C2 hydrocarbons, in a quartz tube reactor enforced by a DC corona discharge, was investigated at atmospheric pressure. The process was carried out in the presence of metal oxide catalysts of Mn/W/SiO2, Mn/W/SiO2 (tetraethyl orthosilicate, TEOS), and Mn/W/CNT (supported on carbon nanotubes). The total yield to C2 hydrocarbons in the presence of metal oxide cat...
